For this week's blog assignment, after reading the article on the previous post, please write a paragraph or two describing in detail your tentative topic for your own speech, including any visual aids that you might use for your presentation.

For class next week, please bring with you a tentative outline for the Process Analysis Speech. It should include a thesis statement and your main points (steps) with examples. You should also begin thinking about visual aids that you might use for the speech, but we will talk about that more in depth in class next week.

Blog Assignment Week 9

For your blog post for week 9, please read the following paragraph and rewrite it on your blog page correcting sentence fragments, run-on sentences, comma splices, and faulty parallelism.

Having made a product. The problem becomes to find someone who will buy it. It is the responsibility of the marketing promoting and to organize the sale of products. Broadly speaking, the department covers activities such as promotion of sales, advertising, and market research. It would be possible for the factory simply to produce a motorcar if there is hope that it sells, however, it takes a long time to set up a production line for a car assembly plant and even minor modification can prove difficult and expensive. It is much better to discover what people are looking for. When they buy a car then to satisfy their needs. Do car drivers want speed or be safe? Is their aim to impress their neighbors and other road users. Or are they concerned with getting from A to B and back? How important is the price, and the cost of petrol and maintenance? Which deigns and colors are preferred, who is buying the car? Is it a company? Or an individual? It is questions like these. The marketing department will have to answer even before production commences.

Blog Assignment Week 8

We have almost reached the halfway point in the semester! To celebrate, please write and post on your blog +a lengthy and well-devloped paragraph reflecting on the first half of the semester. I would like you to discuss areas in which you feel you have improved and areas that you still might need to work on. Have you met the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the semester? Why or why not? Revaluating where you are in your writing skills, what would you like to see both from this class and from yourself during the second half?
